Barton Town Old Boys 0 North Ferriby United 3
Pre Season Friendly
Thursday 12 July 2012
Ferriby were comfortable winners in their first pre-season fixture. On a pitch where the grass was over-long, The Villagers found it difficult to play their usual free-flowing passing game.
New signing Jack Muldoon went close early-on before he opened the scoring after 6 minutes. Bradshaw played the ball through to Muldoon who outpaced a defender then slipped the ball past home keeper Jody Barford as he came out to narrow the angle.
Ferriby continued the half in lively form. The pace and movement of Bradshaw and Muldoon continually created problems for Barton.
Despite their control, Ferriby could not find the net again and the half-time score was not really a true reflection of their performance.
Manager Billy Heath played an almost completely different side in the second half. Antoni Pecora returned to the side in goal and there was a welcome return for Chris white who missed all of last season with a serious injury.
Even with a changed line-up, Ferriby continued to control the game. However, The Villagers had to wait until the 70th minute for their second goal. Good work down the right by Danny Clarke saw his cross headed home from close range by Lee Morris.
Muldoon completed the scoring in the final moments with a superb 25 yard strike that gave substitute keeper Liam Taylor no chance.
Heath was generally satisfied with his team's performance but a sterner test lies ahead on Monday when Ferriby face Hull city at The Rapid Solicitors Stadium.
